About Billabulla
Rod and Kate Mildner own and operate “Billabulla”, a 4,400 ha property on the Macquarie River floodplain, about 20k downstream of Warren and about 150k west of Dubbo. “Billabulla” is about 50k upstream of the world-renowned Macquarie Marshes.95% of “Billabulla” floods in big floods, as is currently the case. Rainfall averages 450mm, with no seasonal dominance. Currently sitting on a rolling rainfall of 1,000mm! Soils are a good balance of heavy grey vertisol self mulching and red loam on the higher areas. Time controlled grazing and holistic management has been practiced for 25 years.“Billabulla” is subdivided into 160 paddocks, ranging in size from 12ha to 100ha, and averaging about 17ha.
