By Sheeda Cheng Last night, we showcased Alex and Nick Anderson from Newstead Pastoral Company in the third episode of our webinar series, Champions of Grazing Innovation. The Andersons are a young growing family in Australia, based in Mullaley, New South Wales. Their innovation story is inspiring as they have managed to turn challenging conditions around in their favor by making smart, data-based decisions on how to get the best out of their land. Hosted by MaiaGrazing’s Chief Grazing Officer, Bart Davidson, this 45-minute webinar showcased the Anderson’s property – Newstead Pastoral Company. Shown via MaiaGrazing’s farm map feature, viewers were able to get a bird’s eye view of the property and its subdivisions. The Andersons also generously provided a sneak peek of their MaiaGrazing charts over the last two years. By being diligent with record-keeping, they have been successful in leveraging MaiaGrazing forecasting feature to inform them on how to best plan their grazes and run a more flexible operation that focuses on maximizing returns.

It was no surprise to learn that as champions of #RegenAg, the Andersons are passionate about educating themselves on the best practices of grazing management. They have completed the GrazingforProfit™ School course by RCS, and are proponents of lifelong learning. Alongside our previous Champions, Stuart Austin and Maddy Pursehouse, we’re honored to be part of their grazing journey and wish them the very best in everything that they do.
